ABOUT
Felicity Murray
No longer a young celebrant in years, but certainly young in heart and spirit, my life to date has been rich and varied.
Originally from Lower Hutt, I have lived and worked in Fiji and India, travelled plenty, and have lived in Bucklands Beach, in Auckland for 30 years. Married slightly longer, I have two grown daughters, always picking my brains about weddings!
My working life has been pretty varied too – working in Foreign Affairs, Corporate Banking, Horticulture and now my favourite job – shop girl in Poppies Books in Howick, Auckland.
Confident speaker and presenter
Speaking in public and making presentations comes easily to me through my involvement since childhood in speech and drama, Toastmasters, and leadership roles I have had in community groups I have been involved with over the years.
I am an experienced writer, especially of people’s stories.
For eight years, I was a volunteer biographer with Totara Hospice, putting together the life stories of terminal patients. I have recently started doing this volunteer work again. I have been a book reviewer for BooksellersNZ, plus I do my own book review blog.
Aside from reading, I love a good game of tennis, keeping my small garden tidy, getting out on my bike with my husband and friends, and movies.
